Light, sound and capturing memories-A Bride’s interview with The Sound Machine
Yes, our wedding is about us, but I want our guests to remember this wedding as the best they have ever been to, how can I make that happen?
Having the right DJ and lighting can really set the right mood at your reception AND wedding ceremony. Brides often think about those elements for the reception site, but detailing those special touches at the ceremony is on trend!
Should I have my next door neighbor be my DJ-he can run an ipod?
A professional DJ will provide the perfect blend of music at all times, from the seating of the mothers, to the father-daughter dance. You don’t want your “workout” play-list to accidentally disrupt your big day. Think SMOOOOOTH! Smooth transitions and flawless planning.
My venue has lights, why should I be thinking about professional lighting?
Many event venues offer lighting options, but having your DJ as your lighting coordinator promises the right nuances visually and audibly- on cue! It’s that extra special touch that makes your wedding unforgettable and uniquely you!
My kid brother isn’t going to be a groomsman. I’m thinking of having him video the wedding for me and I can edit it afterwards?
I knew a bride once that had her brother video the entire ceremony-with the power turned off! True story! Nothing against brothers here! Honest! But if capturing the special moments of the most important day of your life are important, a professional videographer, that has experience and knows how to “get the shot” is worth every penny you spend. A seasoned videographer instantly knows the perfect edit in that same moment he gets the shot. Your wedding video should be your favorite movie ever!
We saw on Pinterest an idea for a “photo booth” with hats and mustaches-you know, props? One that we could set up ourselves and guests could use their cell phones?
It’s fun concept, but what if you could have a REAL photo booth. With pictures printed instantly for your guests to take home with them? Memories made! Memories captured! And great momentos for your guests, it really makes them feel special.
You have provided services for so many weddings. If there was one tip you could give the Bride, what would your advice be?
Book early. If you find the vendor you have your heart set on, book the date as soon as possible! It’s the surefire way to have the wedding you want!
Jason Gross and his professional team at The Sound Machine offer DJ services, Lighting, Videorecording, Stand-Alone Photobooth and more! Click on their tile ad on the right side of this page for more information.

Rangers Come Back to Top Preds
The Nashville Predators jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but the New York Rangers stormed back on Thursday night to collect a 4-3 victory at Madison Square Garden.
After the Rangers scored four straight, Roman Josi brought the Preds back to within one with two minutes to play in regulation when he finished off a slick passing play, but that was as close as the Preds came to forcing overtime.
“They have a lot of team speed. They’re constantly making sure you have them in check,” Preds Head Coach Peter Laviolette said. “I actually think it takes a bit away from you offensively because the more you press and something turns over, the more they’re willing to fly, so it’s a dangerous group they have.”
A P.K. Subban slapper generated a low rebound that Cody McLeod spun and deposited into a gaping cage for a 1-0 Nashville lead in the first period. New York seemed to own the lionshare of quality chances in the opening 20 minutes, but it was the Preds who emerged with the advantage.
Calle Jarnkrok stretched the visitors’ advantage to two goals with his 10th at 3:50 of the second, but the Rangers would not fade away quietly.
First, Matt Irwin’s clearing attempt deflected off an official to Kevin Hayes, who dished to Michael Grabner for an in-tight bid that cut Nashville’s lead in half. Roughly six minutes later, a New York 2-on-1 with Hayes and J.T. Miller resulted in an all-square contest through two periods.
“They got some fortuitous bounces tonight,” Laviolette said of the Rangers. “One of the goals was off the referee’s skate, comes out to the middle and it’s in the back of the net… they got some bounces that went their way. I thought after the first seven or eight minutes, we were working, generating chances, but they’re going to get chances, they’re a good hockey club.”
At 5:36 of the final frame, Chris Kreider zipped in front of the net as a shot arrived and deflected the puck in for his 22nd of the campaign. Nashville challenged to see if the play was offside, but the goal was upheld. Miller added New York’s fourth of the night before they hung on to hand the Preds just their second regulation loss after scoring the game’s first goal this season.
“They’re a fast team, and they have some fast players,” center Ryan Johansen said. “I think it took a little while to adjust to it, and we got a two-goal lead, exactly what we wanted, but [they had a] couple lucky bounces on their goals, too. And myself, I had three chances right in front and I have to find ways to get those in the net because I miss my chance they come right back down and score.”
The Predators now return to Nashville for a weekend doubleheader, with four more huge points available for the taking, before a mandatory five-day break beginning Monday.

Smoke causes Evacuation of Tullahoma’s Wal Mart for a few minutes
Tullahoma Wal-Mart was evacuated Thursday afternoon due to smoke in the building. Store officials got all customers and employees out of the building. The Tullahoma fire department made a search of the building and up on the roof of the building but no fire was found. The smoke was coming from the back of the building in the area of the offices. It was allegedly a central heating unit causing the problem.
No one was injured and shoppers were allowed to return to the store after about 30 minutes.
New Tax Scam
There’s a new tax scam.
The IRS is warning taxpayers to be alert for tax return preparers who promise inflated tax refunds.
IRS officials say if a preparer promises an extremely large refund based on credits or benefits you’ve never been able to claim in the past you should use caution.
Scammers usually search for people who don’t have a filing requirement, like the elderly or people with a low income.
Con artists may also file a false return in their client’s name, and the client doesn’t know that a refund was paid.
Experts say if a preparer is promising something that sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
This scam is just one of several on the annual list of tax scams released by the IRS known as the “Dirty Dozen.”
