Man Allegedly Fights with Police and gets Arrested
Upon arrival, a female led officers to where they found Richard Lee Rose age 34 of Summitville Rd Manchester in the bedroom of the home. The man has been apparently been banned from the home by the landlord. Rose was asked to step outside and when he left the room he allegedly became violent with officers and resisted arrest.
According to the arrest, warrant Rose allegedly fought with officers, throwing punches and apparently kicking one officer in his face and throat. The man was finally restrained and placed in custody.
Rose was charged by Officer Matthew Pruitt with resisting arrest, criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and assault. His bond was set at $31,000 and he’ll appear in court on April 21, 2017.
Bedford County Burglary Suspects Caught
Multiple persons were charged by Bedford County Sheriff’s Office detectives last week for their involvement in a burglary of an area business.
During the course of investigating a burglary that occurred at M&L Greenhouse, detectives with the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office received some information from Shelbyville Police Department detectives about a possible location on some stolen property taken from M&L. As a result of following leads and more information that was uncovered due to the tip, Joshua Nathan Brown, Beverly Denise Blackmon, Brittney Lee Forman, and Joseph Camaron Perez were charged for their involvement in the burglary that occurred at M&L Greenhouse.
Daughters of the American Revolution to honor Vietnam War Veterans
Wednesday, March 29, 2017 has been designated as a day to express gratitude and support to Vietnam War veterans across the nation. It was the last day American troops were on the ground in Vietnam. At 2 p.m. at City Hall, Tullahoma Mayor Lane Curlee will read a proclamation honoring Vietnam Veterans, and DAR Regent Mary Ann Scott will host a flag raising ceremony. A Vietnam Commemorative flag will be raised by the color guard and fly over City Hall for three days. The flag reads, “A Grateful Nation Thanks and Honors You.”
The objectives of the commemoration are to thank and honor Vietnam Veterans and their families; to highlight the service of the Armed Forces during the Vietnam War; and to pay tribute to the contributions made on the home front by the people of the United States.

3/23/17 — James H. Kelnhofer
James H. Kelnhofer of Tullahoma, passed away Saturday, March 18 at his
residence at the age of 66 years. Funeral Services are scheduled for
Thursday, March 23 at 2 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home with Bro. Ray
Cathey officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation
with the family will be Thursday from 12 PM until the service time.
Mr. Kelnhofer, a native of Coffee County, was the son of the late Harold R
and Mildred Amos Kelnhofer. He was a U S Army veteran and a Ford Master
Tech. He was a member of the Christian Friendship Church of Tullahoma,
where he enjoyed teaching Sunday school and participating in many other
church activities. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children
and grandchildren. His hobbies included collecting guns and cars.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Anna
Elise Kelnhofer.
Mr. Kelnhofer is survived by two sons, Joshua Kelnhofer and David Scott
Kelnhofer, both of Tullahoma; two daughters, Jenny Kelnhofer Lyle of Smyrna
and Stacie Goodnight of Star City, AR; three brothers, Gary Kelnhofer of
Tullahoma, Joe Kelnhofer and his wife, Diane of Pine Bluff, AR and Phillip
Kelnhofer of Estill Springs; one sister, Mary Joyce Cyree and her husband,
Jimmy of Decherd; eleven grandchildren, Casanova Robertson, Xavier Lyle,
Jayden, MaKayla, Breanne and Colby Kelnhofer, Summer, Autumn, Shelby and
Alysia Goodnight and Virgil Goodnight Jr; nieces, Denise Soloman and her
husband, Stacy of Winchester and Dianne Cyree Garrison of Winchester and
good friend, Rebecca Prince of Tullahoma.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made in
his name to the Christian Friendship Church, c/o Vickie Cathey, 363 Grosch
Road, Manchester, TN 37355.

3/24/17 — Anita Marie Williams
Anita Marie Williams of Tullahoma, passed away Saturday, March 18 at
Tennova Healthcare – Harton at the age of 56 years. Funeral Services are
scheduled for Friday, March 24 at 4 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral
Home. Visitation
with the family will be Friday from 2 PM until the service time.
Anita was the daughter of the late Wayne Williams and the late Peggy
Hopkins Williams Thomas. She was born in Harvey, IL on January 5, 1961.
Anita
was a great cook and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She
also enjoyed fishing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers,
Terry Williams and Farrell Williams.
She is survived by two daughters, Mitzy Dillon and her husband, Kevin of
Tullahoma and Jennifer Hartline and her husband, Kyle of Hixson;
step-father, Doug Thomas of Tullahoma; brothers, Jamie Thomas and his wife,
Nikki of Tullahoma, Wesley Williams of Winchester and Jeff Thomas of
Tullahoma; one sister, Pamela Thomas of Manchester and six grandchildren,
Hillary Miles, Olivia Clem, Katy Clark, Connor Cash, Zoe Hartline and
Harrison Hartline.

I-24 Four Vehicle Crash leaves 5 Hurt and One Deceased
71-year-old Mary Anne Lasch of Fort Myers, Florida was killed in a multiple-vehicle crash in Coffee County on Interstate 24 Friday night just after 8pm. The crash near mile-marker 105 closed I-24 eastbound for several hours along with a portion of the westbound lanes.
According to a report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Lasch was traveling west on the interstate and lost control for an unknown reason and crossed into the eastbound lanes clipping another vehicle.
A third vehicle t-boned Lasch causing her to spin around and hit a fourth vehicle head-on. Lasch’s vehicle then flipped onto its top.
Officials confirmed Lasch passed away at the scene.
Five others involved in the incident were injured. Their conditions were unknown. Three other people involved in the crash were not injured. Injured in one of vehicles were Delvone D Maddox age 28, Holland Branch age 26 and Danisha Maddox also age 26 all of Louisville, KY. Injured in another vehicle were Kevin E Derby age 51 and Shirley Derby age 50 both of St Peters, MO.
Along with the THP, Coffee County Sheriff’s Department deputies, Manchester City Police, North Coffee VFD, Manchester Fire and Rescue, Tullahoma Fire Department and others assisted at the scene and backed up other areas because so much manpower worked the area of the crash.
Local J.C. Penny will Not Close
Northgate Mall in Tullahoma and Three Star Mall in McMinnville will not be losing one of its main tenants. The J.C. Penney stores are NOT on the list of stores that will be closed by the company.
J.C. Penney recently announced it will close 138 stores nationwide to improve profitability. The company said approximately 5,000 positions nationwide will be impacted due to the closures.
Three J.C. Penney stores in Tennessee will be closed. They are in Greeneville, Knoxville and Union City.
Grundy County Man Arrested for Fraud
A Grundy County insurance agent has been charged with fraud.
The TBI says 46-year-old Troy E. Shrum, of Tracy City, is accused of taking money from several customers as payment for their insurance policies.
The TBI says the payments were never sent to the insurance provider, causing the cancellation of customers’ policies.
Last week, the Grundy County Grand Jury indicted Shrum on two counts of Theft of Property and two counts of Insurance Fraud.
Shrum turned himself in and was booked into the Grundy County Jail on Friday.
He was released after posting a $7,500 bond.
