The Westwood Middle School baseball team closed out the regular season on Tuesday with a trip to Wartrace.  Tangling with conference rival Cascade, the Rockets were looking to avenge a lopsided loss to the Champions in March.  The Rockets held Cascade to 2 runs on the game, but could only muster 3 hits in a 2 to 1 loss.

Cascade got on the board in the 1st inning as they strung together 3 hits.  Westwood tied the game in the top of the 6th before Cascade pushed across the go-ahead run in their half of the 6th.  Westwood was retired in order in the 7th inning.  Luke Beachboard had a walk and a single and scored the Rockets only run.

Next up for the Rockets is the Duck River Valley Conference Tournament.  Thunder Radio will keep you updated when Westwood’s opening round game is set.
