On Sunday, Manchester Police Officer Jamie Newman was dispatched to McArthur St to check a suspicious car in a driveway. A check of the registration on the car revealed it did not belong to the vehicle. When a check of the area for the driver was completed, the vehicle was gone. A second call from a business located at McArthur St and Oak Drive was about the same vehicle. Officers observed the vehicle pull away from the business and stopped it on Oak Drive.
The arrest warrant says that David Andrew Melton had no license and allegedly admitted to officers that he is a habitual offender. A check of his record reveals that he has been caught driving on revoked seven times and once driving as a habitual offender.
Melton age 44 of Shelly Rd Manchester was charged with being a habitual traffic offender. Bond was set at $10,000 and he is set to appear in court on Nov. 15, 2016.
