Thomas “Tommy” Joseph Leach Jr, age 67 of Manchester, passed
away June 21, 2016 at his home. He is preceded in death by his parents,
Thomas
Joseph Leach, Sr. and Dorothy Leach. Survived by his sister, Donna Angelillo
(John); niece, Kristin Larivee (Ryan); nephew, Shane Angelillo; 2 great
nieces,
1 great nephew and several cousins; his companion for the past 4 years,
Danielle DeLong and her children, Elizabeth, Matthew and Michael.
Tommy was a United States Navy Veteran serving in the
Vietnam War where he earned a Purple Heart. His CDL license earned him over
three million miles under his belt. He had a love for the outdoors and
was very
in touch with the Earth, especially the Moon. He enjoyed hunting,
sight-seeing,
drag races, and Nascar. He loved working with his hands, he was a
talented wood
worker. He could build anything and even built a couple houses by hand.
Tommy
got joy out of the simple things in life and was always willing to talk to
anyone, support them, and lend a hand. Once you met him you would never
forget
him. Tommy will be missed by all that knew him.
A Celebration of Life for Tommy will be held at Fred Deadman
Park in Manchester on Saturday July 9, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. at pavilion 3 with
Brother Benny Benjamin officiating. Refreshments will be provided
following the
service. A remembrance walk along the greenway in Tommys memory will
start at
4:00 p.m. at the Manchester Recreation Center. In Lieu of flowers the Leach
family would like you to make donations to The Ronald McDonald House of
Nashville.
The Coffee County Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the Leach
family.
