Charles Gaylon Nelson, age 74 of Tullahoma, passed away Saturday May 21st, 2016 at Unity Medical Center in Manchester. Mr. Nelson was born in Sidonia, TN and graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1964 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. After graduation, Mr. Nelson enjoyed a 45-year career at AEDC as an Instrumentation Engineer, retiring in 2009. In addition to his parents, Vivian Ludella Hundley Nelson and Thelbert Basil Nelson, Mr. Nelson is preceded in death by his son Dwight Wade Nelson. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Judy Katherine Hogue Nelson; brother Gary Lynn Nelson of Kenton, TN; two daughters Alicia Nelson Bernarding of Chattanooga, TN (husband Trevin, granddaughters Bridget, Breanna, Brooklyn and grandson Bret) and daughter Stacy Nelson Brotherton of San Antonio, TX (husband Bill, granddaughter Katie and grandson Will), several nephews and one niece. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 7:30 pm Monday May 23rd, 2016 at Tullahoma Funeral Home. There will be a private family graveside service held on Tuesday May 24th, 2016 at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
