The Tennessee Department of Education announced Wednesday it is terminating its contract with Measurement Inc., due to several missed deadlines. Measurement Inc., was responsible for the TNReady test. In a release, the department said all school districts were still waiting on some testing materials for third through eighth grades to arrive. Officials said some 2 million testing documents had yet to be shipped. The announcement was made at a press conference Wednesday afternoon. High school testing will continue as planned, but the state is suspending part two of TN Ready tests for third through eighth grades. The state is working on finding a new vendor for next year. Earlier this year, the TNReady test was changed from an online test to a paper test after the system crashed on what was supposed to be the first day of testing.
