Lady Raider Softball Falls at Lawrence County

A seven run 5th inning capped off a disappointing night of softball in Lawrenceburg for the Lady Raiders of Coffee County Central as they fell 11 to 1 to Lawrence County. The Lady Raiders fell behind 1 to 0 in the bottom of the first but quickly tied the game in the 3rd on an RBI single from Rhianna Roberson. In the 4th inning, the Coffee County defense committed 2 errors leading to a pair of unearned runs for Lawrence County. In the 5th, Lawrence County pounded out 7 hits to plate the 7 runs needed to end the contest via the mercy rule. The loss is the first district loss of the year for Coffee County.  Roberson led Coffee County in hitting as she was 2 for 3. Raven Rogers had a triple and Tori Bell belted a double for the Lady Raiders. Coffee County will be back at home at Terry Floyd Field on Thursday night for a 7 PM game with Macon East Academy of Montgomery, AL. The night will also be Special Needs Kids Night as several students with special needs will be honored and Thunder Radio will be on hand to bring you the broadcast beginning with the pregame show at 6:50.
