An opening match round of 52 by Christopher Robinson was good enough to lift the Westwood Rocket golf team to a win in their first match of the season. The Rockets and Lady Rockets traveled to Fayetteville on Tuesday for each team’s first middle school match of the season. The Rockets, behind the low round of the day by Robinson, edged Fayetteville by a score of 183 to 210. Nicholas Johnson shot a 61 for Westwood while Andrew Green carded a 70 and Gavin Prater fired a 74 for the 9 hole match. The Lady Rockets were not as fortunate as they were edged by 8 strokes. Elizabeth Brown shot the low round for Westwood as she carded a 69. Macie Lawrence fired a 73 and Brayden Gray came home in 79. Westwood golf is off until Tuesday, April 12th when they travel to Shelbyville with the Coffee County golfers to compete against Liberty and Harris. Those 4 teams will tee off at 3:30 PM
