In a rematch of the girls’ district finals of 2015, the Shelbyville Central High School tennis team welcomed Coffee County to the Eagles home courts on Tuesday. Unlike last season, the Lady Raiders could not pull the upset of the talented Eagle teams on Tuesday. Both boys and girls teams fell by identical 5 -2 scores on the evening. In girls play, Maddie Taylor got a singles win(Score was 8-4) and teamed up with Ali Shelton to win in doubles(8-6) to score both Lady Raider victories. Kayla Wright dropped a heart-breaking tiebreaker(11-9) for the Lady Raiders. On the boys side, Jared Hu(8-2) and Grey Riddle(8-3) each won their singles matches for Coffee County. Shlip Patel fell in his singles match in the tiebreaker(8-4). The Red Raider tennis teams travel to Lawrenceburg on Friday for a makeup match with Lawrence County. First serves are scheduled for 4 PM.
