CCMS Softball and Baseball Open Season with Wins over White County

Softball4Banging out 10 hits, and taking advantage of 5 free passes due to walks and hit batters, the Coffee County Middle School softball team opened the season with a 15 to 0, win over White County on Monday night in 3 innings.  Sarah West banged out 3 hits to lead the Lady Raider attack as she had 2 singles and a double.  Kyla Craig was 2 for 2 on the night with a triple and a single.  Maci Head got the shutout win in the circle and added a double at the plate for Coffee County.  The JV team also blanked White County 15 to 0 as well.  The Lady Raiders travel to Sparta on Tuesday afternoon for a rematch with White County.  The varsity game gets underway at 5 PM.

baseball 3The Red Raider baseball team plated 6 runs in the last 2 innings in a 10 to 6 opening game win over White County on Monday night at CCMS. The Raiders’ patience at the plate paid off as they drew 7 walks in the game. Blanton Brown led the Raiders in hitting as he had a single, a double and a triple in 4 plate appearances while scoring 2 runs. Jalen Morris and Hayden Skipper each had a pair of walks and as each scored twice. Skipper started the game on the bump and earned the win with 10 strikeouts.  Griffin Meeker came on in relief in the 5th inning for Coffee County. The JV Raiders won their contest 4 to 0.  The Raiders travel to Sparta on Tuesday afternoon for the 2nd game in the series with White County. The varsity game gets underway at 5 PM.
