CHS golfer Samuel Prater

The CHS golfers played host to Macon County on Monday at Willowbrook in an 18 hole, head to head match. The Red Raiders struggled on the day dropping the match by 4 strokes to the visiting Tigers 335 to 339. Samuel Prater had the low round of the day for Coffee County as he shot an 83. The loss dropped the Raiders season record to 25 and 9
The Lady Raiders won their 27th match of the season defeating Macon County 162 to 195. Savannah Quick fired low round of the day with a 4 over par 76. Teagan Perry got around in 86 for Coffee County. With the win, Coffee County improved to 27 and 3.
On Wednesday, the Coffee County Raiders and Lady Raiders will play host to the Lawrence Family Motors Willowbrook Invitational. The popular tournament will feature teams from 16 high schools. Tee time is set for 9:00 AM

The Coffee County Lady Raider volleyball team dropped their first match of the season to Warren County on Monday night. The more experienced Lady Pioneers raced out to a 2 set lead as they swept the first 2 games by identical 25 to 21 scores. The Lady Raiders fought back to claim the 3rd set 25 to 17 but dropped the 4th set 25 -27 for the non district loss.
Coffee County ran their offense well as they got 53 kills on the night off of 41 assists and defensively, the back line scooped up 45 digs. At the service line is where Coffee County hurt itself committing 12 service errors to neutralize their 13 aces. Maddie Taylor led the team in aces with 5 and assists with 21. Diana Davis led Coffee County in kills with 14 while Baylee Nester and Peyton Nicoll added 10 apiece. Libero Makayla Morgan had 15 digs for Coffee County while Davis added 10.
The volleyball team will be back in action on Wednesday as they play host to Eagleville for an “In School” game. The Lady Raiders and the Lady Eagles will face off at 1:30 PM before the CHS student body.

CHS freshman QB Andrew Mahaffey(#3) fires a pass to Trace Bryant(#1) in freshman football action at Tullahoma on Monday

The Coffee County JV and Freshmen football teams dropped a pair of games to Tullahoma on Monday night. The Wildcats used a 65 yard punt return midway thru the 3rd quarter and the ensuing 2 point conversion to claim the 8 to 6 win. Coffee County responded 2 minutes later as QB Andrew Mahaffey hit Weston Hargrove on a 57 yard TD pass, but the 2 point conversion failed for the freshmen Raiders. Trace Bryant led the Raiders defensively as he had 3 interceptions. In the JV game, the Wildcats scored on their first 2 possessions to complete the sweep of the visiting Red Raiders.
The freshman Raiders will play again on Thursday as they play host to Franklin County. Kickoff is set for 6:00 PM at Carden-Jarrell Field. The JV team will be off until September 10th when they will take part in a JV/Freshman football doubleheader against Grundy County. Kickoff is set for 5:30 PM.
