The top performance on the night was recorded by senior Anthony Jackson who finished 5th in the 800M run with a time of 2 minutes, 4.25 seconds. The 4×800 relay team of Peyton Floied, Anthony Jackson, Ben Myers and Andrew Rosson also finished 5th while the 4×200 relay team of Justice Benitez, Kani Johnson, Tyler Jones and Jakota Alexander finished in 9th place.
Top individual performances included: Kani Johnson, who was 7th in the 110M hurdles and 12th in the 200M dash. David Keith, who finished 9th in the high jump, 11th in the 400M dash and 16th in the long jump. Parker Smith was 11th in the Discus Throw and 17th in the shot put and Tyler Jones, who was 13th in the 200M dash and 20th in the 100M dash.
None of the performances qualified a Red Raider for the Sectional meet, drawing the Red Raider boys track season to a conclusion. The Lady Raiders qualified 3 athletes for the Sectional meet to be held on Tuesday. Lady Raider Haley Banks had previously qualified to compete in the Spring Fling state track meet in the pentathlon. The Spring Fling is held in Murfreesboro.
The Westwood and Coffee Middle golf teams traveled to Shelbyville on Thursday to wrap up their regular season as they took on Harris Middle and Liberty.
In girls play, Westwood got the match win over Harris by a final score of 118 to 122. Jordan Green shot a 55 and Maggie Partin carded a 63. Coffee Middle’s Jacque Crossland was the only Lady Raider golfer to participate but she shot the low round of the day with a 39. Liberty did not have a girls player that competed.
In boys play, the Coffee Middle boys continued their hot play defeating Liberty by a final margin of 195 to 208. Westwood finished 3rd carding a 223. Coffee Middle’s Austin Farris led all boys with a 41, Samuel Prater came in at 43 and Josh Perry finished at 48. For Westwood, Dalton Maccagnone and Jacob Garms each had a 54 while Chance Lowery carded a 56.
Westwood and Coffee Middle will close out their season with their postseason tournament on Monday at Willowbrook Golf Club. The matches will tee off at 9 AM and are free and open to the public.
